Good thing I did because when Sam started crying, "Mommy, why are you letting them hurt me" I about lost it. Nothing kicks in the mother guilt like those kinds of comments.

Glad to hear Finn's OK and all that remains is a bloody car...maybe you should leave it till Eammon gets home and let him wonder how that happened...Lucindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14156766553455712268noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8475456066300656845.post-59065972247873975672009-10-10T17:29:39.705-06:002009-10-10T17:29:39.705-06:00Poor Finn, poor mom! We've never had that many stitches at our house, but I think I probably said some bad words when my daughter shut her finger in the truck door (which latched and her finger was stuck until I could open it). Luckily it was January and we had a snow pile that I could stick her hand into until my husband could get the house unlocked. I worked in a peds clinic for many years and could usually handle icky stuff, but that one made me almost pass out. Don't worry about the blood, just go trade it in quick for a new car before Eamonn gets home!

Sheila in MNAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8475456066300656845.post-63898644942367116592009-10-10T16:35:20.219-06:002009-10-10T16:35:20.219-06:00Oh, bless his heart. I hate trauma .... not only do you need to stay calm as the parent, but you're the touchstone for the kids and quite frankly, that's a lot of pressure. How many stitches did he end up getting?

My brother had a similar injury when he was a little younger than Finn. He had jumped off of the glider on one of those old school aluminum play sets, stood up, and the glider swiped his head.
