I tried putting it in a little "personal care" one from Target (hey, it's what I had in the house!), and after a week or two, the metal parts had rusted, and I was spraying rusty vinegar all over the house. Not too pleasant.

Anna in ILAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8475456066300656845.post-74668356382553498242008-04-30T14:53:00.000-06:002008-04-30T14:53:00.000-06:00I'm sold on the baking soda "paste." I was just making some banana bread and when I got the baking soda out, I thought - what the heck - sprinkle some in the sink (I used wayyyy more than I needed), add water and see what happens.

I'm telling you, I couldn't *believe* how it removed the stains from that sink (and with very little scrubbing effort on my part). Could.not.believe.it. I may actually find that cleaning is a lot more pleasant and actually DO it more often without the awful fumes from the chemicals, not to mention what scrubbing with chemical cleansers does to your hands!

I'm actually excited about cleaning...! Eh, that probably won't last long! :-)1dreamrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11148545725394346192noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8475456066300656845.post-70868430851098443422008-04-29T13:29:00.000-06:002008-04-29T13:29:00.000-06:00I have been using Melaleuca products. How in the world did you get her to buy organic? Erin and I have been working on her for years. Cleaning products are a lot less intimidating to change - maybe that's a sign I'm not cleaning enough??? Anyway, I'm waiting for your post on organic personal products... moisturizer, sunscreen, makeup??? Bring it on!
Take care, LaurieMessy and Wonderfulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17784037855201508825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8475456066300656845.post-60972692135577275882008-04-29T08:59:00.000-06:002008-04-29T08:59:00.000-06:00Great post, Nat, thank you so much! I know that doesn't count for chemical-free.

I like my "clean" to smell clean. Does your vinegar do the trick?

I own vinegar. I own Borax and I have a small box of baking soda. Sounds as though it is time for me to get the huge box!

Our kitchen sink manufacturer recommends its own brand of non-abrasive cleaner. It is unbelievably expensive. I wonder how abrasive do you think a baking soda paste actually is?

So, there you have it. Two questions for you!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
