We've been reading the Mrs. Piggle Wiggle books which were favorites of mine "when I was a girl." When we read together, we always check to see when books were written.
Me: "Oh my gosh! This book was written back when Grandma was a girl!"
Declan: "So when was that?"
Me: "It was in the 40s."
Declan: "So Grandma was born in 18. . ."
Me: "Nineteen! Grandma was born in the 19s!"
Hysterical laughter from all parties in the room.

I'm sure your mom got a kick out of that one! It was nice to see her for a few minutes on Tuesday during the Owens move. The actual move went smoothly, but things got a little more complicated that afternoon with my dad. I think my mom is probably taking her to the airport about now. I do remember loving Mrs. Piggle Wiggle too. Never realized it was that old!
Wondering if there was hysterical laughter coming from Grandma, too??? :)
I also loved Mrs. Piggle Wiggle. Especially the one about the boy who refused to clean his room until it reached the point he was trapped inside .... loved it!
You know now I come to think of it we have a boxed set of Mrs. Piggle Wiggle. I need to read it to my son.
Do you remember thinking that your gradparents were old at 60? My parents are now in their early 70s. Both seem so much younger than my grandparents. Of course my grandad was a heavy smoker and drinker.
Love, love, love Mrs. Piggle Wiggle.
Oh my gosh, I love Mrs Piggle Wiggle books too. After that try the Faraway Tree books with your boys. They're by Enid Blyton. Just fantastic.
